The Beer Mugs Are IN!

Every year, PorktoberQue has a differently designed mug or beer stein for sale in the Fest Haus by the Biergarten. This year, we went with an Oktoberfest-style dimpled half liter glass stein with a combination of the dated festival logo and the Sam Adams Oktoberfest logo on the front.  Steins will be $12 each including your first draft beer. Draft refills in your souvenir mug will be discounted  (only on draft in the FestHaus) and you can pick from any of the draft beers we have (not just the sponsor beer, Sam Adams Oktoberfest.) The beer  steins are very limited (only 200 will be sold) so make sure you get yours early, as we expect to sell out again quickly! Last year, we sold out of steins in just under 2 hours. A photo of the beer mug we will have this year is below. We filled it up with beer and tested it out to make sure it works! (it does!) Prost! (cheers)

Sean Nelson and the Road Dawgs to Perform

After having many requests for some country music and southern rock on the outside stage, we were thrilled to have Sean Nelson and the Road Dawgs agree to perform Saturday, September 26th at 2:10 PM at PorktoberQue.

Born and raised in south Georgia, Sean Nelson had a love for music at an early age. So when he had the chance, he moved to Nashville and learned as much as he could about the music industry. After moving back down south, just outside of Enterprise, AL., Sean surrounded himself with an extremely talented group of musicians called The Road Dawgs. Sean and the Road Dawgs have since been fortunate enough to share the stage with names such as Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Mark Chestnut, John Anderson, David Allen Coe, Daryle Singletary, Rhett Adkins, Craig Hand, and Trent Wilmon just to name a few. The Road Dawgs members are: Scott Summerlin (drums), Rob Seymour (bass), Chris McMahan (guitar), Lanny Nichols (guitar), and Bud Ellis (keyboard). C4 Project Headlines Friday Night

Fun. Funky. Fresh. These are all adjectives used to describe the C4 Project, a hot new band that’s going to be playing Friday night at PorktoberQue. Though it is comprised of seasoned musicians, the group recently formed and combined talents and styles of music. The results have been nothing short of amazing! They are scheduled to be on the main (outside) stage Friday night September 25 from 7:30-9:30. You won’t want to miss them! (And don’t forget while they are on break, you can pop into the metal building to the right of the stage and enjoy the polka music, air conditioning and cold beer in the Fest Haus!)

Polka Dots to Return to PorktoberQue

Our house band for the past three years, the Polka Dots, will again play both days of PorktoberQue. They keep the Festhaus going, and help make PorktoberQue an Oktoberfest with their polka music. We hope all of the “Dots” will be in town again this year, but there may be one or two additions to the group this year. PorktoberQue is September 25-26 at the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama.

Booking Music for the Outside Stage

As you should know, the inside stage is in the Biergarten and only features German-styled music, polkas and accordion music to keep you in the Oktoberfest spirit. But outside, we will have rock, contemporary music and even a little country to keep the crowd happy. Mark your calendar for Friday night September 26th from 7-9:30 and come out and see Kristan Mikala and the Paradox covering all your favorite songs. KMatP Banner IMG_20131222_195809_975edit IMG_20131222_210048_299

Week of Musical Entertainment Wraps Up with Big Jimmy

Each day this week we’ve featured a musical act that will be performing at PorktoberQue for your entertainment. Because there are two stages (one inside the air-conditioned Biergarten and one outside) we have lots of great entertainment. We couldn’t mention all the acts this week, but will feature some more hopefully later on.

Today we wrap up with BIG JIMMY!

Big Jimmy may have started a new trend of Country Stomping. You never seen a redneck rap like this. Music for the people that like rap music, but could never relate to it.– it’s called Hick Hop. Redneck Rapping. Whatever you call it it’s funny and entertaining. Scheduled to appear on the outside stage at 4pm on Saturday September 28th.
