10:00- Karen Searcy- Karen has a wonderful voice that she loves to share with her community and others. Whether at a festival, church or in the shower, she’s always singing! Though she finds her peace and joy in singing Christian music and church songs, she is equally at home singing contemporary and classic songs.

?11-12- RPM- Parts of this band were formerly known as the MudCats (among a few other things). This band has put together some of the finest musicians in the Tri-State Area, and will rock your face off. They have a combined gazillion years of experience and have one of the best sounds in the area.

12: 15 -1pm Halie Long is an acoustic singer songwriter who loves performing in front of energetic crowds. Her wonderful and soulful sound lends itself making cover songs her own, while entertaining the crowd.

1:25-2:20 Sweet Honey Hospitality- Sweet Honey Hospitality is an acoustic singer/songwriter band. This high energy string band is brought to you by the letter “M” from Mason, Maggie, Mike, and Malinda. Sweet Honey Hospitality pays homage to Americana, Bluegrass, and Classic Country. You can hear them cover songs from Gangsta Rap to Bluegrass as well as originals. Sweet Honey Hospitality plays the music that speaks to their souls all while just having a good ole time.

2:30- Kids Que Awards on the Main Stage (Not sure if Academy bringing in someone to MC- maybe JB can be on standby to mc the awards?

3- 3:45 Raquel Lily- Raquel Lily was born in the Philippines, raised in New York, studied in Florida and Michigan, graduated in California, and currently living in Alabama; her eclectic background mirrors her unique pursuit to music.lily

Fred Mohns grew up in Birmingham and played guitar, bass and sang in various music groups.  After graduating from UA, he moved to California to better develop his musical talents. After recording a number of his own projects at Weston House Recording, he began to assist the studio with various promotional projects,  including the one that brought in the singing talents of Raquel Lily.  They quickly began work on many other musical projects  together. After returning to Birmingham with Raquel in 2013, Fred has worked full time producing, engineering, mastering her work.

Coleton Phillips joined the duo in 2014 as a percussionist. He developed his talents while playing for multiple Big Band/Jazz groups.  Over the last few years, Coleton further expanded his musical prowess playing in piano rock/ pop groups in Nashville. He has since moved back to the Birmingham area, devoting his time to playing shows and recording with Raquel Lily.

4:15- 5:30 Play for Funsies- Better known as a children’s music group, Play For Funsies is used to entertaining fans of all ages.  P4F will bring out the inner child in you.  Listening to Play For Funsies will make all of your wildest dreams come true….sort of.  They will be bringing the island beat with a twist and playing ska covers from bands like Save Ferris, Let’s Go Bowling, and Reel Big Fish.  If you are a child of the 90’s you may be familiar with some of their tunes, but either way Play For Funsies will make you want to get out of your seat and dance. funsies

Please don’t wait any longer if you are interested in these spaces! PorktoberQue is at the end of NEXT WEEK and we are just about out of time, so get your forms in now! Call us at (334) 699-1475 if you would like to sign up via the phone and pay with a credit card.

FREE Non-Profit Booth Spaces Taken

Every year since PorktoberQue began we have offered free spaces to non-profits who apply for one, The spaces are awarded on a first available basis, and we are please to announce that all ten of the non-profit booth spaces have been claimed by local and regional civic, church and non-profit groups.

When you come out to PorktoberQue September 26-27 at the Houston County Farm Center, please take a moment out of your schedule and visit with some of the non-profit booths. They are there to provide information on their organization, and some are offering drawings and raffles, while others have free and fun things for the kids to do.  It only takes a few moments of your time to visit with these booth spaces and it will make their day!
