APFA National Officer Re-run ElectionBallots were mailed to all members on March 14, 2018. As a reminder, this is a mail ballot as well as a Department of Labor supervised election. Ballots must be returned, by mail, and received by 10:00am CT onApril 13, 2018.

For your vote to count, you must be dues current (no more than 60 days in dues arrears) by 5:00pm CT on April 9, 2018. You can contact the APFA dues department at dues1@apfa.org or 817-540-01081 ext. 8151.

Executive Committee Meeting

The 1Q18Executive Committee Meeting will be heldApril 5 – 6, 2018from0900-1700 CTat APFA Headquarters in the Unity Pays Conference Room. All members in good standing are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Candidates’ Right to Have Campaign Literature Distributedby the Union or a Union-Designated Mailing Service

Federal law establishes certain campaign rights for candidates in union officer elections, including the right to have campaign literature distributed to the membership by the union at the candidate’s expense.

The U.S. Department of Labor, which enforces the union election law, has clear rules that unions must follow during officer elections. (Consistent with those rules,Section 14of theAPFA Policy Manualspeaks to APFA’s policies and procedures in APFA officerelections.)

Rescheduling is broken down into three main categories:

10.J.2: Prior to Report Time
10.J.3: After Report but prior to Pairing’s Origination
10.J.4: After Origination (Departure of First Flight)

If you find yourself being rescheduled, please reference the appropriate section above. Red Book section10.U.5states that any rescheduling must come from Crew Scheduling, Inflight Management, or the Captain.

In addition, in the event Crew Scheduling has open sequences after future or daily processing, they must follow thePriority of Assignment language in Red Book 12.M.This information may also be found in the LUS On Duty Contract Guide, which is available on your tablet.

Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT): 1-800-998-8194

CIRT consists of Flight Attendants that volunteer to provide peer-to-peer support to other Flight Attendants who’ve experienced a critical or traumatic incident in the workplace (i.e. death in flight, fire onboard, etc). CIRT members man the hotline 24/7 a week, 365 days a year to offer support to those who may need assistance. CIRT members also assist in Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISDs) after traumatic events and/or may be deployed for short periods to assist a crew that may be in need.

CIRT is a completely confidential program. Since CIRT works with the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Flight Service, they are able to offer Flight Attendants an array of resources to be more successful in the workplace.
