Mega-Thread

Hey Everyone,

This is a Megathread for all the people of the sub. If you have questions, Ask away. If you need anything just ask. This is uniform thread where you can ask for pretty much anything (from Questions to Nip Nip) that will be live 24/7 all year around and refreshed every couple of days.

This Megathread is closely monitored by me so if you have a question that no one has answered, don't worry I will personally get back to you in a reasonable time. I will always be keeping a close eye so no naughty business please.

To make things little bit easier if you could help us make distinction between type of posts that would be great, Which brings us too ....

- *Do not put bug reports in this thread.* There is a Bug-Thread pinned to the top of the sub that should be used for them.

- If you are asking a questions please post your question like so : [Question] .... Your Post ....

- If you are requesting something an item, money, etc. please post like so : [Request] .... Your post ....

- If you are offering an item of doing a giveaways (in game items only), user: [Giveaway] .... Your post ....

- Please do not post your friend code in your post. PM/DM them to the person who is helping you. It will prevent people trolling and griefing your saves.

- If you need a specific ship, Multitool, Freighter, Frigates or anything a specific color or kind please check out our friends at r/NMSGlyphExchange. They also have a variety of different guides from Freighters to Multitool so if you need help with acquiring something, head right on over there.

- If you are looking for a ride to Anywhere in NMS, Please reach out to our friends at Pangalactic Starcabs, Pangalactic Starcabs is a Volunteer Service, Cabbie Availability may vary!

- If you are Looking for all 16 glyphs on one planet, You can find them in this Guide

And as always, please be civil, be kind and be helpful.

Please Follow all the Sub and Post rules and Thank you all so much!

DiscussionA base in every galaxy

I know I'm not the first, and won't be the last, but as a personal goal achieved, I figure a little bragging is OK.

Anyways, I jumped thru all (current?) 255 galaxies, and placed a base in each, in the "last" system before the next galaxy jump. "Base" just means a base computer, a teleport ring and a biofuel furnace. Once I hit 255, I did finish the loop by jumping back to Euclid. Now gonna try to find a nice backwater system waaaay out on the edge of 255.

It took about 30 minutes from galaxy jump to galaxy jump. I did not optimize for speed or efficiency, so that accounts for things like transition events, random Switch crashes and Switch graphics lag that prevents me from landing ("landing area not clear", that time actually adds up)

AnsweredHas anyone found random base computers on their planets?

Pretty much as the title says, just landed on a radioactive planet to find some gamma weed, on my way to find some I find a random base computer on the path, but I’d only just discovered it? I’ve been playing the game for about 6 years now, on my umpteenth save, and never come across this, anyone out there who has?

ScreenshotAs a new player, the Adrift Expedition is a better tutorial than the actual tutorial

I learned SO much in these 10 hours. I'm sure I wasn't even playing the game before. I saw so many planets (37 to be precise) and so many cool stuff I didn't even knew existed.

The Expedition literally forced me to do stuff I wouldn't have done before but it made me look up thigns, read the log and step by step follow the milestones. Learning by doing once again became reality.

Adrift was just a glimpse of whats possible in this game and I couldn't be happier as a gamer right now.

So final question: How often do we get expeditions?

Personally I like Paradise planets or redacted planets for the aesthetic. But I’m curious to see what everyone else likes.

Eissentam Galaxy!!

Use portal in anomaly to the dragon egg featured build to be less than 10ish jumps.

I live on this planet I named Scoup.

It’s pretty empty here so if anyone wants to build a base and just vibe nearby or whatever that would be cool. The glyphs are in the screenshot.

Info on system:

3⭐️ High Tech Economy

1 (Stable) Conflict

Gek Dominant system

System was not discovered by me, although none of the planets were discovered at the time of my arrival. I’ve only discovered the one planet so far, feel free to name the others.

Info on Planet: Scoup

Rainy planet

(Deposits)StarbulbCopperParaffiniumCobalt

Purple/pink grassWater is red during the day and blue during the night.

CAUTION!! SUPERHEATED FOG!

Sentinels (Low)Flora (Few)Fauna (abundant)

I also think there is a pirate dreadnought spawn system nearby cause I’ve gotten 2 dreadnoughts going into the same pirate controlled system.

QuestionStart an expedition save or a normal and enter expedition from the anomaly?

Moving from switch to steam deck so am starting completely fresh. Want to play the expedition before going on and playing out the main questline as never finished it before.

Should I start an Adrift save and carry on after the expedition or start a new normal save, get to the anomaly and enter Adrift from there? Any pros and cons to either?

I normally play with difficulties all maxed except inventory restrictions and permadeath if that makes a difference? Do these settings transfer to the expedition?

I spent a lot of time getting my ships maneuverability and ground speed as high as possible, on xbox so i cant mod, and I was just wondering how much fast a ship can actually go.

It's so immersion breaking to be forced out of first person for the warp.

BugNexus Mission Sentinel Bugs

So every time I do a nexus mission that involves a planet with aggressive sentinels, I get stuck in combat mode after the sentinels discover me. Even when I run and hide or kill all the ones around me, I still get stuck in combat mode. At the bottom right of the screen it will even say 0 active sentinels searching. Also, on a mission where I had to go dig up old bones around a planet, my ability to progress after finding the bones was blocked by sentinels supposedly searching for me. I killed a bunch of them and couldn’t find anymore, yet it said they were still searching for me and I was stuck in combat mode. My only way to correct this has been to go back into the Anomaly and back out again in hopes to reset whatever bug it is. This has been happening on every nexus mission I have done so far. (I’ve only been playing the game for a few weeks. Still new.) Anyone else have this problem?
