PorktoberQue is in its 6th year as a sanctioned barbecue competition and as an awesome less-than-traditional Oktoberfest. It is held at the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama the last weekend of September.
This year’s festival is September 29-October 1, 2017. The Houston County Farm Center is located at 1701 E. Cottonwood Road in Dothan. It’s on the Ross Clark Circle, at the intersection of HWY 53.
Gates are open Friday September 29th from 5-10PM. These are the hours also for the indoor Biergarten (beer garden) which is air-conditioned and provides live music from 6-10.
Gates are open Saturday September 30th from 10am-6pm. The indoor Biergarten is also open these hours, but entertainment in the Biergarten does not begin until 10:30AM.
Gates are open Sunday October 1st from 10am-5pm. The Biergartgen will begin serving beer after 1pm, in accordance with local and state laws. There will be entertainment in the Biergarten from 11-4.
Advance Admission is $7 for an armband good all three days and children 12 and under are free. 15 different non-profits, civic and church groups directly benefit from PorktoberQue as well as several local schools. All of the money raised stays here locally to boost and benefit our community. If purchasing tickets at the door, it is $5 per person per day.
